Bespoke Classic Suits Tailored to Perfection

Craftsmanship That Defines Your Professional Image

A well-fitted suit is more than clothing—it represents confidence, professionalism, and attention to detail. At Fepaji, we create classic suits that are cut and sewn specifically for you, ensuring every element aligns with your body shape, posture, and personal preferences. Our tailoring process begins with precise measurements and a detailed consultation where we discuss fabric choices, style preferences, and intended use.

We work with premium wool, wool-silk blends, and high-grade cotton fabrics sourced from established mills. Each material is selected for durability, breathability, and how it drapes on the body. During fittings, we adjust shoulders, chest, waist, and sleeve length to achieve proper proportions. Trousers are fitted to sit comfortably at the natural waist with the correct break at the shoe.

Our workshop in London handles all stages of construction. Lapels are shaped by hand, buttonholes are sewn with precision, and linings are attached with care. We use traditional techniques including canvas fronts and hand-stitched details that contribute to the garment's structure and longevity. The result is a suit that moves with you, maintains its shape over time, and can be worn for years with proper care.

Whether you need formal business attire for daily office wear, a suit for important meetings, or refined clothing for special occasions, we tailor each piece to serve its purpose. Our clients include professionals across various industries who value quality construction and proper fit. We accommodate different body types and work requirements, from slim cuts to more relaxed silhouettes.

Appointments are scheduled Monday through Saturday at our Barnsbury Street location. Each consultation takes approximately 45 minutes, followed by two to three fittings over the following weeks. The entire process typically spans four to six weeks from initial measurement to final delivery. We maintain detailed records of your measurements and preferences for future orders, making subsequent commissions more efficient.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our bespoke tailoring services, from initial consultation to final fitting.

The process typically takes between 6 to 8 weeks from initial consultation to final delivery. This timeframe includes pattern creation, fabric selection, multiple fittings, and final adjustments. During your first visit, we take detailed measurements and discuss your preferences for style, fabric, and details.

After approximately 3 weeks, you'll attend a baste fitting where we check the garment's structure and make necessary adjustments. The final fitting occurs around week 5, ensuring every detail meets your expectations. Rush services are available for an additional fee, reducing the timeline to 4 weeks when needed.

We work with premium fabric mills from England, Italy, and Scotland. Our collection includes Super 100s to Super 180s wool for year-round wear, lightweight tropical wool for summer, and heavier flannel for winter months. Each fabric book contains hundreds of patterns, from classic navy and charcoal to subtle checks and herringbones.

For formal occasions, we offer luxurious cashmere blends and silk-wool combinations. All fabrics are sourced from established mills with proven durability. During consultation, we guide you through options based on your lifestyle, climate considerations, and intended use of the garment.

Standard service includes three appointments: initial consultation with measurements, baste fitting, and final fitting. The first session takes about 60 minutes as we discuss your requirements and take over 30 measurements. The baste fitting, scheduled after pattern creation, allows us to assess fit on a partially constructed garment.

At the final fitting, you try on the completed suit for minor adjustments if needed. Clients with unique fitting requirements may need an additional session. Between London, Islington, and Camden, we schedule appointments at your convenience during business hours and Saturday mornings.

Yes, we can replicate the fit and style of a garment you're comfortable with. Bring your favourite suit to the consultation, and we'll analyze its construction, proportions, and details. This reference helps us understand your preferences for shoulder width, jacket length, trouser rise, and overall silhouette.

While we can match the fit closely, we'll also suggest improvements based on current condition and wear patterns of your existing garment. This approach works particularly well for clients who have a suit they love but need a fresh version in different fabric or with updated details.

Every aspect of your suit can be tailored to your specifications. Choose from notch, peak, or shawl lapels in various widths. Select single or double-breasted styles with two, three, or four buttons. Pocket options include flap, patch, or jetted styles. Vents can be single, double, or none based on your preference.

Interior details matter too: pick lining fabric, add functional buttonholes, choose horn or corozo buttons, and include monogramming. Trouser customization covers pleats, cuffs, side adjusters, and pocket styles. We'll explain how each choice affects the garment's appearance and functionality during your consultation.

All suits come with complimentary adjustments within the first month after delivery. This covers minor tweaks to ensure perfect fit as you wear the garment. Beyond this period, we provide alteration services for suits made by us at reasonable rates.

Common alterations include trouser waist adjustments, sleeve length changes, and jacket suppression. Because we maintain your pattern on file, future alterations are more precise. We also offer refurbishment services such as relining, button replacement, and pressing to keep your investment looking sharp for years.

Pricing depends on fabric selection and construction method. Two-piece suits start from £1,200 for quality wool fabrics, with premium materials ranging up to £2,500. Three-piece suits with waistcoat add £300 to the base price. This includes all fittings, adjustments, and craftsmanship.

We require a 50% deposit when ordering, with the balance due at final fitting. Payment plans are available for orders over £2,000. Each suit represents approximately 40 hours of skilled handwork, from pattern drafting through finishing touches. We provide detailed quotes during consultation, with no hidden fees.

Why Choose Fepaji

Each suit begins with a detailed measurement session where we record over 25 specific points of your body. This ensures the garment fits your unique proportions perfectly, with adjustments made throughout the process to guarantee comfort and elegance.

Premium Fabrics

We source wool, cashmere, and linen from established mills in Italy and England. Our collection includes Super 120s to Super 180s wool grades, allowing you to select materials based on weight, texture, and seasonal suitability for your wardrobe needs.

Skilled Craftsmen

Our team consists of tailors with 15 to 30 years of experience in classic menswear construction. Each specialist focuses on specific techniques—from canvas work to hand-stitched buttonholes—ensuring every detail receives proper attention and expertise.

Fitting Process

After the initial consultation, we schedule two to three fittings over a period of 4-6 weeks. This allows us to refine the jacket's shoulder line, adjust trouser length, and modify the waist suppression until the suit sits correctly on your frame.

About Fepaji

Fepaji was established in 2008 by three master tailors who shared a vision of bringing authentic bespoke tailoring to London. Our workshop opened at 34 Barnsbury Street, where we continue to craft garments using techniques passed down through generations. Each founder brought distinct expertise: one trained in Savile Row establishments for 12 years, another specialized in Italian construction methods, and the third mastered pattern making at a renowned atelier in Paris.

The name Fepaji combines elements from our founders' backgrounds, representing a fusion of British precision, Italian elegance, and French finesse. This blend defines how we approach every commission.

Tailoring workshop at Fepaji

Our Foundation

Starting with a single cutting table and commitment to quality, we built our reputation through word of mouth. Our first year saw 47 completed suits. Today, we handle approximately 300 commissions annually while maintaining the same attention to detail.

We invested early in training apprentices, establishing a program that spans three years. Seven tailors who began as apprentices now work alongside us, ensuring our methods continue. This approach preserves techniques while allowing innovation in fit and construction.

Our workshop houses vintage machinery from the 1950s alongside modern equipment. A 1952 buttonhole machine still produces the finest work, while computerized pattern systems help achieve precision in measurements. This combination serves clients who value both tradition and contemporary fit.

Custom suit fitting process

What Guides Us

We measure success by garments that remain in wardrobes for decades. Our focus stays on construction that allows alterations as bodies change, using full canvas interlinings and hand-sewn components throughout. Clients return because suits maintain their shape after years of wear.

Every commission receives the same process regardless of cloth selection. We source fabrics from mills in Huddersfield, Biella, and lesser-known weavers who produce exceptional materials. Our relationships with 23 mills span back to our founding, providing access to both classic and seasonal offerings.

Craftsmanship Standards

Each suit requires between 45 and 60 hours of handwork. We use 18 stitches per inch on lapels, hand-pad collars with horsehair canvas, and attach buttons with thread shanks. These methods take longer but produce garments that move naturally and age gracefully.

Client Relationships

We maintain detailed records of every measurement, preference, and adjustment. Most clients stay with us for years, some for over a decade. This history allows us to anticipate needs and refine fit with each new commission.

Continuous Learning

Our team attends workshops twice yearly to study developments in pattern cutting and pressing techniques. We also examine vintage garments to understand how master tailors solved construction challenges before modern materials existed.

Experience and Expertise

Our team comprises 11 specialists with combined experience exceeding 180 years. Five hold City & Guilds qualifications in bespoke tailoring, three completed apprenticeships at established houses, and two trained in pattern making at technical colleges. This depth of knowledge addresses everything from posture-related fit issues to fabric behavior during pressing.

We work with barristers requiring court attire, executives building business wardrobes, and individuals marking significant occasions. Each client receives three fittings as standard, with additional sessions when needed. Our fitting process identifies not just measurements but how someone moves, sits, and carries themselves.

Selecting the right fabric for your bespoke suit

Choosing the Perfect Fabric for Your Bespoke Suit

The foundation of any exceptional suit begins with fabric selection. Understanding wool weights, weave patterns, and seasonal considerations helps you make informed decisions. We work with mills across England and Italy, offering Super 120s to Super 180s wool, each with distinct characteristics. A 260-280g fabric suits British weather year-round, while lighter weights work for warmer months. The weave affects durability and drape—plain weaves offer longevity, while twills provide texture and resilience.

The Bespoke Tailoring Process: What to Expect

Creating a bespoke suit involves multiple stages, each requiring precision and attention. The process starts with an initial consultation where we discuss your requirements, lifestyle, and preferences. We take over 30 measurements to create your unique pattern. The first fitting occurs after the suit is basted together—this allows adjustments to the canvas, shoulders, and overall silhouette. A second fitting ensures the finished garment drapes correctly. The entire process typically spans 6-8 weeks, resulting in a suit built specifically for your body and preferences.

Good service overall. The suit fits well and the fabric quality is solid. I went for a navy blue suit with a slim fit. The tailor was knowledgeable and made helpful suggestions about lapel width and button stance. My only minor issue was that the final delivery took about a week longer than initially quoted, but they kept me informed. The price was reasonable for a fully bespoke suit - I paid £1,150 including two fittings.

Ordered a suit for my husband's 40th birthday. The tailors were patient with all my questions and delivered exactly what we discussed. He wears it to every important meeting now.

Decent quality but expected more attention to detail for the price. The suit fits acceptably, though I had to return twice for adjustments. The fabric selection was good - went with a mid-grey worsted wool. Communication could be better.

Third suit from Fepaji. They keep my measurements on file which makes reordering simple. Consistent quality and the suits last for years with proper care.

I'm a barrister and needed suits that project authority while remaining comfortable during long court sessions. The tailor understood the requirements immediately and suggested a classic two-button design with a slightly relaxed fit through the chest. We chose a dark navy Super 110s wool that doesn't show wrinkles easily. The inside pockets are positioned perfectly for carrying documents. Would have given five stars but the initial quote was £950 and the final bill came to £1,080 with some additional features I agreed to during fittings. Still fair pricing for what I received.

Finding well-fitted women's suits is challenging, especially for someone with my proportions. High street options never fit properly in both the shoulders and waist. The consultation here was thorough - they took 16 different measurements and discussed how I wanted the jacket to sit. Chose a charcoal pinstripe with a modern cut. Two fittings later, I have a suit that actually fits. The trousers have a proper rise and the jacket shoulders are spot-on. This is what professional tailoring should be.

The suit is fine and fits reasonably well. Process took about eight weeks which was longer than expected. Fabric quality seems good but I'm not an expert. For £1,200 I expected perhaps slightly more polish in the finishing details. The service was professional enough.

Lost 3 stone and none of my suits fit anymore. Rather than buy off-the-rack, I invested in two bespoke suits here. Best decision. They fit perfectly and the quality is evident in every stitch. The medium grey flannel is particularly versatile.

Solid craftsmanship and fair pricing. The consultation was informative without being pushy. Went for a classic navy with subtle texture. Fits well after one adjustment session. Delivery was punctual. Would recommend and will likely order another suit next year.

I'm 6'4" and finding suits that fit properly has always been a nightmare. Standard sizes are either too short in the sleeves or too wide in the body. A colleague recommended Fepaji and I'm genuinely pleased with the result. The tailor took time to understand my build and lifestyle - I'm on my feet a lot and needed something durable but comfortable. We settled on a brown herringbone tweed for winter wear. The jacket has enough room in the shoulders without looking oversized, and the trouser break is exactly right. They also added functional cuff buttons which was a nice touch. The whole process from first appointment to collection took seven weeks. I've worn it twice a week for two months now and it still looks fresh. Already planning to order a lighter weight suit for summer.
